5-Day Sketching - Part 3

Welcome to day 3 of the 5-day sketching challenge! Each day consists of a pencil sketching lesson covering a different subject.

For day 3 we'll be sketching a quick and loose study of a leather satchel. See below for reference photos, materials and links to other days.

Materials You'll Need

  • A few sketching pencils ranging from a firmer HB through to a darker 6B, 7B or 8B. I use a carbon pencil for darker tones to avoid graphite shine but that's not essential.
  • 5 sheets of drawing paper (A4 or American letter size) or a sketchbook of similar size. - An eraser (I prefer a kneadable eraser).
  • A pencil sharpener
